Something I was thinking about the other day as I listened to someone in my office blather on and on about their child....just because someone tells a cute story about their kid, doesn't automatically mean that you have to tell one about yours. Sometimes it's just good to listen!!
I see it way too often...someone tells a friend something cute that their child did. Before they can even finish, you can see the other person formulating their kid story(not even listening). The entire process just turns into one boring story after another....with no one really listening.
....and please don't get me started on folks telling stories about their damn dog.
That's why I limit my stories to about 3 a year....because I know no one is listening anyway!!
This coming, as you know, from a proud single parent!!

Mr Obama's plan to increase "volunteers"
“Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year.”
*From President Elect Obama's Website
Do I really need to comment on that?
****UPDATE******With the internet uproar....the word "require" has been removed....right

Our new President
Congratulations to Mr Obama for a fine campaign. He ran with a left wing agenda of taking from those who have sacrificed, toiled and taken chances with their own capital....starting businesses and employing almost 85% of workers in this country with their small businesses.
I, myself, will not accept the check that I am bound to receive from our new President. If I wanted money that others that worked hard for and earned....I would go into the ritzy neighborhood down the road, knock on doors and ask them for their money. What's the difference?
I will support my daughter cutting grass if I have to....I've done it before.
But I will respect the man and the office, unlike many over the past few years. However, I will not accept money that he takes from others and tries to transfer to me.
God Bless America

Single Parents Unite
I am a new blogger. Many of my entries will be about my life as a single parent. I have been a single father now for almost 7 years.
Just taking the pulse here on the www to see how many single parents might be interested in conversing about our day to day struggles and triumphs:)
